WHAT IS IT, REALLY?
ERMAPA is a collaborative platform mapping out services, solutions, and knowledge to ensure the longest life cycle of clothing and textiles worldwide.
Currently, it mainly features a set of 7 collaborative Google maps, each designed to help at a different stage of the cycle to enable individuals to connect the dots in their circular journey, redefining how they use, care for, and dispose of their fashion and textile items.
It also includes 2 growing, community-driven databases:
• One with services that cannot be pinned on a map organised by category.
• Another for those who want to go deeper: learn by reading an article, a book, or an essay; listening to a podcast; watching a documentary or film; or take action by joining petitions, campaigns, and organisations working on the topic.
VISION
An engaged global society who ensures the longest life cycle of their clothing and textiles.
A world without textile waste.
MISSION
We provide practical tools, such as maps and informative content, enabling individuals, SMEs, and craftspeople to empower each other in adopting circular practices while fostering collaboration, informed consumer choices, and supporting fair standards.
We believe in revealing the potential in what we already have, making responsible use of resources achievable for everyone.
We raise awareness about the value and craftsmanship behind our clothes.
HOW IT STARTED
Born from an unbearable sense of overwhelm, an amalgamation of experiences and aspirations, and gaps observed in the industry, ERMAPA aims to simplify, synthesise and amplify circular solutions within an industry fraught with excess.
